Avon and Somerset Police are seeking the public's help to identify three men following a violent and racially motivated attack on a taxi driver in Bristol.

Avon and Somerset Police have released images of three men they wish to speak with as part of an ongoing investigation into a racially motivated assault in Bristol city centre. The incident, which left a taxi driver with a broken thumb and facial injuries, occurred in the early hours of Saturday, 20 September.

The victim was working in his vehicle on Anchors Road at approximately 4am when he was approached by a group of people. The group subjected the driver to a series of racial slurs before physically attacking him and causing damage to his taxi. The victim was subsequently taken to hospital for treatment, though he has since been discharged to recover at home.

Investigating officers are also keen to trace a van driver who intervened during the altercation. The driver reportedly shouted at the attackers, causing the group to flee the scene.

Police have described the three men they are looking to identify as being aged between 18 and 25. The first man is described as white, of large build, with black hair, and was seen wearing a blue jacket, black jeans, and trainers. The second man is white with brown hair, and was wearing a black T-shirt with a white collar, blue ripped jeans, and trainers. The third individual is also white with black hair and black stubble; he was wearing a black long-sleeved top, dark blue jeans, and trainers.

There is absolutely no place for hate, intimidation or violence in Avon and Somerset. Where crimes are committed, we will act robustly and pursue those responsible.

Authorities are urging anyone who recognises the men in the images or has relevant dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward. Information can be provided by completing the online appeals form on the Avon and Somerset Police website or by calling 101, quoting the reference number 5226269500.

Alternatively, members of the public can provide information anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through their secure online form. Crimestoppers does not collect personal details, and callers will not be required to go to court or speak directly to police.
