Emergency services were called to a café on Oxford Road in Reading this morning to extinguish an electrical fire.

Emergency services were called to a property on Oxford Road in Reading earlier today following reports of an electrical fire. Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue Service personnel were alerted to the blaze at 8.14am.

Upon arrival, crews discovered a fire inside a local café. Firefighters, equipped with breathing apparatus, utilised three carbon dioxide extinguishers to suppress the flames.

Crews from three local stations—Whitley Wood, Caversham Road and Wokingham Road—were deployed to the scene to assist in the operation. One police officer was also in attendance to provide support.

While the fire service has confirmed the nature of the incident, the specific address of the commercial property involved has not yet been disclosed. Emergency personnel remain at the scene to ensure the area is safe and to continue their assessment of the situation.
