A long-vacant building in Blue Boar Row is set to reopen as a new drinks-led pub, Cooper & Co., following a major refurbishment.
A prominent city centre building that has stood empty for five years is finally set to welcome customers again. Cooper & Co. is scheduled to open its doors at 40 Blue Boar Row in Salisbury on Monday, October 5.
The unit, which formerly housed a Pizza Hut before its closure in September 2020 during a national restructuring, has undergone a significant transformation. The project was led by Amber Taverns, a Blackpool-based operator that manages over 175 pubs across the UK.
Wiltshire Council granted planning permission for the conversion, allowing for a comprehensive internal and external refurbishment. While the venue will not operate a full kitchen, it has been designed as a drinks-led establishment with a strong emphasis on live sport and entertainment. Features of the new pub include dedicated karaoke areas, with two soundproofed rooms available for customers, as well as an outdoor beer garden.
The exterior of the building has also been updated as part of the project. Contractors have installed new timber cladding, applied fresh paintwork, and created a redesigned entrance to revitalise the unit. The new branding for Cooper & Co. is now visible, featuring illuminated signage across the frontage and a new hanging sign on Blue Boar Row.
The pub is set to begin trading at 10 am on its opening day.
