Emergency repairs close Milford Mill Road in Salisbury
By Swindon Now Editorial Team · Published

Motorists are being advised to expect delays as emergency work to repair a leaking water pipe continues on Milford Mill Road.
A key route in Salisbury remains closed as Wessex Water teams carry out emergency repairs to a leaking water pipe. The closure, which affects a section of Milford Mill Road near Bourne Cottage, was put in place to ensure public safety and allow engineers to access the infrastructure.
The disruption began at 9.35am on Tuesday, 27 October, and is currently scheduled to remain in effect until 11.59pm on Saturday, 31 October. While a signed diversion route has been established to manage the flow of traffic, motorists travelling through the area are advised to allow extra time for their journeys, as congestion is expected on surrounding local roads.
This stretch of road has previously been subject to temporary drainage works by Wiltshire Council following reports of flooding. The council, acting as the highway authority, approved the urgent utility works to address the leak. Officials have confirmed that the road is expected to reopen once the necessary repairs are fully completed and the carriageway is confirmed to be safe for public use.
Residents and commuters are encouraged to check local traffic updates before travelling to avoid unexpected delays near the site.
