A person has been taken to hospital following a collision on the A36 Churchill Way Southbound, which caused significant delays for motorists in the city.

Emergency services were called to a serious road traffic collision on the A36 in Salisbury on the morning of Wednesday, September 23. The incident occurred at approximately 09:39 BST on the A36 Churchill Way Southbound, between St Marks Roundabout and College Roundabout.

The multi-vehicle crash resulted in the road being blocked for several hours, leading to significant traffic disruption for those travelling through the area. Delays were reported in the vicinity of College Roundabout and along the A36 towards Southampton Road as emergency teams worked at the scene.

A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust confirmed that a single double-crewed land ambulance was dispatched to the location. One patient was subsequently conveyed to Salisbury District Hospital for treatment. The nature and extent of the injuries sustained remain unknown, though the incident was classified as serious by traffic monitoring services.

Motorists are advised that while the scene has been cleared, such incidents can cause knock-on effects for traffic flow during peak periods. Those travelling in the Salisbury area are encouraged to monitor local traffic reports for any residual delays.
