A new weekly running group has launched in Salisbury to help residents stay active and build community connections.

A newly established running group is offering residents in Salisbury a fresh way to improve their wellbeing and socialise. The Healthspan Salisbury Run Club holds sessions every Wednesday evening, providing a 5km group run that caters to people of all fitness levels and abilities.

The initiative, which meets at 9 Butcher Row, is designed to be accessible to everyone, regardless of their experience. Whether an individual is returning to exercise after a long break, is entirely new to running, or is already a seasoned athlete, the organisers aim to provide a welcoming environment.

Tim Hampton, the store manager at Healthspan and a keen runner himself, said he launched the club to create a space for people to get active together. He noted that the group has started with a small number of participants and is keen to see the community grow over time. There is no requirement to book a place in advance, and the sessions are free of charge.

The group departs from 9 Butcher Row at 6pm every Wednesday. Beyond the physical activity, the club is part of a broader effort by the store to function as a community hub, which includes hosting expert talks on health-related topics. For example, the store recently held an event with a registered nutritionist, which was met with positive engagement from local residents.

Participants can also benefit from in-store discounts following the runs. Those seeking further information about the weekly sessions are encouraged to visit the store in person or call 07754 893662.
