Local charity Beyond Dementia is holding a festive shopping event at Salisbury Rugby Club this November to raise funds for its support services.
A new festive fundraising event is coming to Salisbury next month, offering residents the chance to support local dementia services while shopping for Christmas gifts.
Beyond Dementia, a Wiltshire-based charity formerly known as Alzheimer’s Support, is hosting its inaugural Christmas Shopping Evening at Salisbury Rugby Club. The event is scheduled to take place on Thursday, November 26, running from 7pm until 9.30pm.
The evening will feature a variety of stalls from independent sellers and local craft makers. Shoppers can expect to find a range of handmade goods, Christmas decorations, and stocking fillers. Alongside the shopping, the organisers have confirmed that seasonal refreshments will be available throughout the night, and Santa is expected to make an appearance.
Rachel Fear, the charity's community fundraising manager, said the organisation was excited to bring the event to the heart of the Salisbury community. She highlighted the fundraiser as an ideal opportunity for residents to pick up gifts while contributing to the charity’s ongoing work in the region.
Beyond Dementia provides a range of support services across Wiltshire to help people living with dementia maintain their independence and social connections. In Salisbury, the organisation facilitates several community initiatives, including the Scots Lane Day Club, the Memory Café, and the Downton Downtime social group. They also provide specialist support for family carers.
Entry to the Christmas Shopping Evening is free, and the organisers hope to establish the event as a permanent fixture on the city's festive calendar. Further information about the charity's local services and the upcoming event can be found on their website.
