TrustSTFC is organising a food bank collection at this Saturday's match to support the Swindon Food Collective's efforts to help local families.

Supporters of Swindon Town Football Club are being encouraged to support a vital local cause this weekend. Ahead of the home fixture against Walsall this Saturday, the official supporters trust, TrustSTFC, will be hosting a food bank collection on behalf of the Swindon Food Collective.

Volunteers will be stationed at the Trust gazebo near Statue Park from 1 pm until after the match. Supporters attending the game are invited to donate non-perishable food items, with the collection aiming to replenish supplies for the organisation which provides essential support to people across Swindon and the surrounding area.

In 2025, the Swindon Food Collective distributed more than 90,000 meals to those in need, with children accounting for 31 per cent of the recipients. The charity operates through 12 centres in the region, providing parcels designed to sustain households for three to five days.

Suggested items for donation include tinned meals such as spaghetti, ravioli, chilli con carne, macaroni cheese or curry, as well as tinned vegetables, fish, long-life milk, tea bags, biscuits, toothpaste and laundry pods. Beyond physical food donations, the Trust is accepting financial contributions at the gazebo via collection buckets, a card reader or a QR code.

Wider community initiatives

The collection is one of several initiatives currently managed by TrustSTFC, which focuses on both supporting the football club and engaging with the wider Swindon community. The organisation has recently bolstered its player sponsorship programme for the current season. This includes backing first-team players Paul Glatzel and Joel McGregor, alongside sponsorship of women’s team players Katie Sherwood, Hannah Cox and Annie Colston.

The Trust has also confirmed it will sponsor the women's team home match against Exeter on Sunday, 8 November, with members offered the chance to enter a draw for hospitality tickets. Beyond matchday support, the Trust maintains ongoing involvement in various local projects, including the provision of blankets for disabled supporters, funding for statues within the club's grounds and supporting the establishment of a permanent home for the STFC Museum within the Legends Lounge.

Supporters interested in the work of the Trust or wishing to support their future initiatives are encouraged to find more information on their official website.
