Swindon Borough Council is considering several new planning applications, including a proposal to build five flats behind Victoria Road in Old Town.

A series of new planning applications has been lodged with Swindon Borough Council, spanning from residential extensions to proposals for new housing. Residents and neighbours are now able to view these plans and submit their comments as the proposals move through the formal review process.

Among the most significant submissions is a proposal for the erection of five new flats under use Class C3 on land to the rear of 151-152 Victoria Road in Old Town. The application, filed under reference S/26/1287, was validated on 19 October and is currently pending a decision.

The council is also considering a variety of household and business development requests across the borough:

South Marston: A single-storey rear extension to a double garage is proposed at 9 Rawlings Close, alongside plans to replace two single garage doors with one wider unit (S/HOU/26/1318).

Stanton Fitzwarren: Tanglewood at 2 The Avenue has submitted a request to vary conditions relating to the finish, render and colour of a previously approved rear extension (S/HOU/26/1306).

Tadpole Garden Village: Tree works are proposed for 14 Ilett Crescent, specifically regarding a tree covered by a preservation order (S/TPO/26/1296).

Ferndale: Prior approval is being sought for a single-storey rear extension at 399 Ferndale Road, which would extend 5.1 metres from the original wall (S/PHOU/26/1303).

Kingshill: A Certificate of Lawfulness has been requested for a single-storey rear outbuilding at 142 Kingshill Road (S/LDP/26/1309).

Penhill: A similar certificate for a single-storey rear extension is under review for 109 Downton Road (S/LDP/26/1289).

Bishopstone: An application for a non-material amendment regarding materials at Prebendal Farmhouse, Icknield Way, is pending (S/AMEND/26/1286).

Shaw: A single-storey front porch extension is proposed for 45 Winlaw Close (S/HOU/26/1291).

Gorse Hill: Plans for a two-storey side extension and a single-storey rear extension have been submitted for 105 May Close (S/HOU/26/1281).

Hannington: Works to replace an existing barn roof at Cherry Tree Farm on Hannington Lane are currently under consideration (S/LBC/26/1285).

Additionally, a Certificate of Lawfulness application has been made concerning the use of Unit B12 at the North Swindon District Centre, Abbey Meads, specifically for an estate agency (S/LDP/26/1282).

The majority of these applications were received and validated in mid-October. Members of the public can view the full details of these plans and make representations through the Swindon Borough Council planning portal.
