Swindon Borough Council has launched a new weed treatment programme across the borough, with work expected to be completed by early November.

Swindon Borough Council has commenced a new programme of weed treatment across the borough as part of a wider effort to maintain the cleanliness and appearance of public spaces. The work is being carried out on streets, pavements and various public areas to ensure neighbourhoods remain well-kept.

The maintenance is currently underway, with local areas such as Lower Stratton and Coleview identified as part of the scheduled works. The council has confirmed that it expects the treatment programme to be fully completed by the first week of November.

Councillor Marco Di Pinto, who represents the Stratton St Margaret ward, welcomed the initiative. He noted that keeping neighbourhoods looking their best is a priority and that regular treatment is a necessary measure to maintain the aesthetic standard of the local environment.

This environmental work coincides with broader local improvements being addressed in the Stratton area, including recent efforts to resolve persistent flooding issues at the White Hart Footbridge. Local representatives have been actively engaging with the council to propose solutions for these infrastructure concerns alongside the ongoing maintenance programme.
