Residents can comment on a variety of new planning applications across Swindon, including a proposal for nine homes in Blunsdon and residential caravans in South Marston.
Swindon Borough Council has validated a range of new planning applications between 14 and 18 September 2026, covering projects from residential extensions to significant housing developments.
New residential proposals
Among the most notable submissions is an application for the construction of nine residential dwellings on land adjacent to Ermin Street in Blunsdon (Ref: S/26/1143). Additionally, an application has been lodged for the change of use of land at Nightingale Lane, South Marston, to station residential caravans, including the erection of dayroom buildings and associated access (Ref: S/26/1166). In Stratton St Margaret, plans have been submitted for a single bungalow on land at 27 Ermin Street (Ref: S/26/1168).
Development and infrastructure
Major development sites, particularly in the New Eastern Villages, continue to move through the planning process. Multiple applications have been submitted to discharge planning conditions for the Lotmead site, covering areas such as ecological management, tree protection, and infrastructure requirements like electric vehicle charging points and car share schemes (Refs: S/COND/26/1144, S/COND/26/1145, S/COND/26/1146). Further south at the Commonhead development, a condition relating to noise mitigation is also under review (Ref: S/COND/26/1153).
Household and commercial applications
Homeowners are seeking permission for various improvements, including:
Windsor Road, Lawn: A two-storey side extension and a new pitched roof for the front canopy (Ref: S/HOU/26/1169).

Haydon Wick: A rear conservatory at 9 Firth Close (Ref: S/HOU/26/1167).
In the town centre, plans are underway for external alterations to the Focal Point building on Fleet Street (Ref: S/26/1161). Meanwhile, a Certificate of Lawfulness has been requested for the proposed conversion of 4 Joseph Street into a house in multiple occupation (HMO), which would include a new rear dormer window (Ref: S/LDP/26/1163).
Full details of these applications, including architectural drawings and site maps, are available via the Swindon Borough Council planning portal. Residents are encouraged to review these proposals and submit any comments or objections through the official council website.
