Swindon Borough Council is inviting public feedback on a range of new planning proposals, including home extensions, garden structures, and tree works across the borough.

Swindon Borough Council has opened a public consultation period for 12 planning applications submitted across the local area. The proposals range from significant residential extensions to environmental works within protected conservation areas, and residents are being encouraged to review the details and submit their comments to the local authority.

The applications, all of which are currently pending a decision, reflect a variety of residential and commercial development interests:

Residential Alterations and Extensions

36 Oxford Road, Stratton St Margaret: Plans have been submitted for a side and rear extension, the conversion of the roof from hip to gable, and the construction of a detached garden room.

27 Lynwood Grove, Moredon: A proposal for a single-storey rear extension, a garage extension, and the installation of a 1.8-metre-high boundary fence.

50 Sywell Road, Stratton St Margaret: An application for a single-storey rear extension and a two-storey side extension.

1 Moresby Close, Westlea: Plans covering a garage conversion, a single-storey rear and side extension, and the addition of a front porch.

36 High Street, Highworth: A retrospective application concerning internal alterations, the replacement of the front door, and external decoration.

School House, Windsor Road, Lawn: A proposal to install entrance gates and walls to improve security for the existing driveway.

Environmental and Advertising Proposals

129 Rodbourne Road: An application seeking the retention of an existing 48-sheet paper-and-paste billboard advertisement.

Tree Works: Several applications involve maintenance in sensitive areas: Chestnut House, Queens Road, Hannington: Works to a tree in a conservation area.

31 Marlborough Road, Wroughton: Works to trees in a conservation area.

5 High Street, Chiseldon: Works to trees in a conservation area.

The Pound, Nell Hill, Hannington: Works to trees in a conservation area.

35 Ironstone Close, Redhouse: Specifically identified maintenance for an Ash tree (T425 – 1987).

These applications provide an opportunity for neighbours and interested parties to raise any concerns or offer support for the proposed changes. Residents wishing to view the full documents, site maps, or to submit a formal response should visit the Swindon Borough Council planning portal on the council website. The council will consider all valid representations before reaching a final decision on each case.
