The Stripey Badger in Eldene has announced new mid-week opening times as the community pub marks its first year back in business.

The Stripey Badger in Eldene has confirmed a change to its operating schedule as the popular local venue enters its second year under its current management. From Tuesday, November 3, the pub will introduce new opening hours for the mid-week period.

Under the updated schedule, the establishment will open its doors at 2.30pm from Tuesday through to Thursday. Hours for the remainder of the week will remain unchanged, with the pub continuing to welcome customers from 12pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The venue will remain closed on Mondays.

The shift in hours comes shortly after the pub marked its first anniversary since reopening on October 17, 2025. The site had previously been closed for three years and had fallen into disrepair before being revitalised by current landlord Callum Forbes.

Mr Forbes, who took over the reins in August 2025, oversaw a major refurbishment of the premises before the relaunch. Reflecting on the first year of operations, he highlighted the vital role of local support, stating that the community remains the driving force behind the pub’s ongoing success.

The venue has established itself locally by focusing on affordable pricing, maintaining a selection of drinks including Carling, Guinness and Hawkstone.
