Thames Water is investigating a supply failure affecting homes in the Bath Road area of Swindon.
Residents in parts of Swindon are experiencing a loss of water supply this evening following an ongoing issue with the local network. Thames Water confirmed they are aware of a fault impacting households around the Bath Road area in the SN1 postcode.
The water company first acknowledged the disruption at 6.40pm on Thursday, October 15. Engineers have been dispatched to the site to investigate the cause of the failure and to work towards restoring service to affected properties.
While the exact number of homes impacted has not yet been confirmed by the utility provider, Thames Water has issued an apology for the inconvenience caused by the outage. In an update to customers, the company stated that their teams are prioritising the repair to get supplies back to normal as quickly as possible.
The company has also reminded customers who may require additional assistance during service interruptions that they can sign up for their Priority Services Register. This service provides extra support for vulnerable residents who may be particularly affected by a loss of water supply.
Further updates on the progress of the repairs are expected to be provided by Thames Water as the investigation continues.
