Swindon Dolphin ASC celebrates a standout season as teenager Elijah takes a national title, with multiple club members delivering strong performances across major swimming meets.
A local teenage swimmer has been crowned a national champion in a display of excellence that highlights a successful season for the Swindon Dolphin ASC.
Elijah, 15, secured the national title in the 200m backstroke at the Aquatics GB Next Generation Championships. His performance at the meet also saw him claim bronze medals in both the 50m and 100m backstroke events. In addition to his podium finishes, he placed fifth in both the 50m and 100m butterfly and finished 16th in the 200m freestyle.
The teenager's achievements have earned him a place in the record books, as he has broken five junior county records and one open county record, cementing his status as the fastest male swimmer ever from Wiltshire.
Anthony Clark, head coach at Swindon Dolphin, praised the commitment required to reach such a level. He noted that witnessing a swimmer progress through the club programme to achieve national success is rewarding for all involved.
The club saw success across a range of other national events throughout the season:
Swim England National Open Water Championships: Several members competed in the long-distance events, with Harriet, Harry, Phoebe, Jacob, and Charlie representing the club across the 5km and 7.5km distances.
Swim England National Summer Meet: Betina, Jacob, Eva, and Poppy achieved multiple top-tier finishes in the 400m individual medley, butterfly, freestyle, and breaststroke events.
Swim Wales National Meet: Amabel Lovell enjoyed a successful outing, bringing home three silver medals in the 11/12-year age group for the 50m, 100m, and 200m breaststroke.
These results reflect a collective effort from the swimmers, coaching staff, volunteers, and families who support the club. With several members including Lucas and Poppy preparing for university this autumn, the club continues to balance competitive success with the personal development of its athletes.
