Midfielder Anthony Munda will miss this weekend's match against Rotherham United due to a knee injury, as Swindon Town manage a growing list of fitness concerns.

Swindon Town head into their weekend fixture against Rotherham United with a depleted midfield following confirmation that Anthony Munda is sidelined. The Newcastle United loanee sustained a hyper-extended knee during the recent victory over Barnet.

Although Munda managed to complete the match as the team had exhausted their substitutions, subsequent medical assessment revealed a bone bruise. While the club has ruled out more serious damage initially feared, manager Ian Holloway noted that Munda is currently unable to straighten the leg comfortably. The midfielder will return to contention once he regains full range of motion.

The club is currently navigating a challenging period regarding squad fitness. Midfielder Ollie Clarke remains unavailable as he continues his recovery from a hamstring tear, an injury expected to keep him out for over a month. Furthermore, Ben Middlemas is continuing his rehabilitation following knee surgery.

The defensive line has also faced significant disruption. Sam Inwood, who was substituted early in the recent draw at the Memorial Stadium against Bristol Rovers, has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring tear. The defender, on loan from Bolton Wanderers, is expected to be sidelined until mid-December. This follows a limited run of 186 minutes of League Two action since his arrival.

In more positive news for the squad, both Stephan Negru and Jaylan Pearman, who missed the Bristol Rovers encounter due to illness, are expected to be back in the selection mix for the visit of Rotherham. With options limited, the manager is expected to rotate between James Ball, Negru, Kaelan Majekodunmi, and Billy Kirkman to form the defensive setup.

Looking further ahead, striker Ollie Palmer has returned to full training over the last two days and is nearing a return to competitive action. Defender Ryan Tafazolli is also undergoing further medical checks on a toe injury, with the club waiting for a final all-clear before he rejoins the first-team squad.
