Sky Sports pundit Don Goodman has highlighted Swindon Town's stark contrast in home and away form as a key issue for Ian Holloway to address.

Swindon Town's start to the League Two campaign has been defined by a significant disparity between their impressive home performances and a lack of results on the road. While Ian Holloway's side has maintained a perfect record at the County Ground, securing three wins from three and scoring eight goals, their form away from home has become a growing source of concern.

With seven league games played, the club currently sits in 13th place. However, the lack of an away victory—or even an away goal—this season has left the team struggling to climb the table. Their last away win in the league dates back to March 21 against Tranmere Rovers, while their last away goal came during a match against Cambridge United in early April.

Sky Sports pundit and EFL expert Don Goodman, speaking to BetVictor, identified this trend as the primary area requiring improvement. What jumps off the page is the contrast between their home and away form. They have won all three at home, but away from home they have drawn one, lost three, and have not even scored a goal.

Goodman acknowledged that while the season has been a mixed bag, the squad possesses the quality to compete at the top of the division under Holloway's leadership. He noted that recent setbacks, including a difficult away trip to York City, highlighted the work required to transition their home confidence into performances on the road.

Manager Ian Holloway has confirmed he is scrutinising every aspect of the team's preparation for away trips, including training schedules, to identify the root cause of the current drought. For the supporters, the immediate focus shifts to two upcoming home fixtures against Newport County in the EFL Trophy and Accrington Stanley in the league.

These matches offer a vital opportunity for the team to generate momentum before their next away challenge, a trip to Rochdale on October 3. Whether Swindon can translate their home form to the wider division remains one of the defining questions for their season.
