Swindon Town striker Fletcher Holman has outlined his target to return to action by mid-December as he continues his recovery from a significant hamstring injury.

Swindon Town forward Fletcher Holman has set a target to return to competitive action before the end of the year, following a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at the County Ground in January, has been recovering from a Grade 3C hamstring tear sustained during a pre-season friendly against Bristol City. The severity of the injury, which initially saw him ruled out for four to five months, meant he was excluded from the club's official EFL squad for the first half of the season.

However, after more than two months of rehabilitation, Holman has returned to the training pitch at Beversbrook. While he is yet to participate in full-contact sessions, he has made significant strides in his recovery.

Speaking on his progress, Holman stated that he is aiming for a mid-December return. He remains focused on ensuring his fitness is fully restored before rejoining the matchday squad.

I would not say that I am ahead of schedule; I would just say that I am on time. We are just covering every base and making sure that we are not missing anything and making sure that I am back to full fitness. I am sort of hoping to be back by mid-December, maybe a bit before that, but I am just not rushing anything.

Throughout his period of absence, Holman has maintained contact with manager Ian Holloway. The striker noted that the coaching staff have kept him involved in team meetings to ensure he remains familiar with the squad's tactical direction.

While he remains sidelined for now, Holman is optimistic about his future contribution to the team once he is fully fit to play. He added that he is eager to get back to the form he showed after first joining the club, stating his intention to get back to flying and see what he can do upon his return.
