The Wildcats secured a perfect weekend with wins against Solway IHC and Peterborough Phantoms, setting the stage for a top-tier clash at the Link Centre this weekend.

Swindon Wildcats have continued their impressive resurgence in the NIHL National league, extending their winning streak to four consecutive games following a dominant weekend of ice hockey. The team secured two crucial victories in less than 24 hours, building significant momentum after a challenging start to the season.

Saturday evening saw a major celebration at the Better Link Centre as the club honoured Tomasz Malasinski by retiring his number 89 jersey. In front of the season's largest crowd of 1,399 supporters, the Wildcats overcame Solway IHC in a 5-3 victory. Although the visitors took an early lead following a swift turnaround, Swindon regained control through goals from Dylan Lipsey, Ryan Wells, and Liam Fraser to seal the win.

The momentum continued into Sunday as the team travelled to face the Peterborough Phantoms. Swindon established an early lead with quick goals from Glenn Billing and Ryan Wells, followed by a third from Mason Lipsey. Despite a brief fightback from the hosts, who levelled the score at 3-3 by the start of the third period, the Wildcats responded decisively. Three unanswered goals, including a second for Billing and one for Fraser, confirmed a 6-3 result.

Liam Fraser proved to be a standout performer over the weekend, recording four points across the two fixtures. He currently shares the lead as the highest points scorer in the NIHL National, with 15 points accumulated during the opening weeks of the campaign.

The Wildcats now look ahead to a high-stakes fixture at the Link Centre this coming weekend against the Romford Raiders. With both teams showing strong form in the early stages of the season, the match is expected to be a key encounter in the race for position in the league table.
