The Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy is seeking new talent for the upcoming season, with upcoming open trials at the Link Centre.
Aspiring young ice hockey players in Swindon have the opportunity to join the TopKittens, the girls' under-16 squad representing the Swindon Wildcats Ice Hockey Academy. The club has announced it is opening its doors for new players ahead of the 2026/2027 season.
The academy is inviting girls to demonstrate their skills during a series of open trials taking place at the Link Centre this summer. Sessions are scheduled for 16 June, 30 June, and 7 July. Each session will run from 9pm to 10pm, and the club advises participants to arrive at 8.15pm to prepare for the ice time.
The programme costs £15 per session. The club has emphasised that the environment is designed to be both supportive and high-performing, focusing on key athletic areas such as game intelligence, skill progression, and the development of creative, confident players.
Leadership for the squad includes experienced coaching staff, notably featuring GB Women's player Ellie Wallace. The academy has a proven track record of nurturing talent, with 14 TopKittens players having progressed to represent Great Britain over the last decade. Interested families are encouraged to take advantage of these sessions to become part of the club as it looks to build its roster for the next season.
