Vue Swindon is hosting a series of special cinema screenings this autumn to mark milestone anniversaries for several iconic films, beginning in September.

Film fans in Swindon will have the opportunity to revisit some of the most celebrated titles in cinematic history this autumn. Vue Swindon has announced a special programme of anniversary screenings, bringing a range of iconic films back to the big screen throughout the coming months.

The season of classics is set to offer something for every taste, from high-stakes adventure and psychological thrillers to cult horror favourites. According to the cinema chain, these screenings are designed to showcase these films in the immersive environment of the cinema, which organisers say remains the best way to experience these storied works.

The programme of events is scheduled to run as follows:

September 11: Raiders of the Lost Ark (45th anniversary) and The Transformers: The Movie (40th anniversary).

September 25: Manhunter (38th anniversary).

October 2: Casino Royale (25th anniversary).

October 16: The Others (25th anniversary) and The Craft (30th anniversary).

October 23: Scream (30th anniversary).

October 30: Donnie Darko and Pan’s Labyrinth .

November 6: Rocky (50th anniversary).

Dean Cross, senior screen content manager at Vue UK and Ireland, said the cinema chain is keen to celebrate these milestones with local audiences. He noted that the return of these films offers a chance for both long-time fans to experience their favourites again and for new viewers to discover them on the big screen.

Residents interested in attending these screenings are advised to check the official Vue website for specific showtimes, as these can be subject to change and demand for anniversary events is often high. The season concludes in early November with the golden anniversary of the original Rocky .
