Residents across Swindon can look forward to a range of public firework events this November, with celebrations spanning from Thursday, November 5 through to the weekend.

With Bonfire Night approaching, several communities in and around Swindon are preparing for their annual firework celebrations. Whether you are looking for a large-scale display or a local community event, there are various options available for families across the region.

For those seeking a mid-week option, the Central Swindon North Parish Council is hosting a display at Penhill Park on Thursday, November 5. This event is notable for being one of the few entirely free public celebrations in the area, running from 5pm until 7.30pm with food vendors and funfair rides available on-site.

Events continue into the following days, with Highworth Town Council hosting a display at the Highworth Recreation Ground on Friday, November 6. Gates open at 6pm with the main display scheduled for 7.30pm. Organisers have advised that alcohol and sparklers are not permitted at this venue. Tickets are priced at £8 for adults and £5 for children aged between five and 16, while children under five can enter for free.

Saturday, November 7, sees a busy schedule of events across the area:

Swindon Lions Fireworks and Funfair: Held at the Polo Ground on Marlborough Road from 6.45pm. Tickets must be purchased in advance either online or at the One Stop on Guildford Avenue. Prices are £12 for over 16s, £6 for children, and free for under 4s.

Swindon Scouts Fireworks Night: Taking place at Lydiard Park, with gates opening at 4.30pm. The bonfire is set to be lit at 6pm, followed by fireworks at 7pm. Tickets are £13 for those over 15 and £6.50 for children, with free entry for under 5s. Proceeds support local Scouting activities.

Swindon Cricket Club: This event begins at 5pm and features a DJ, fairground rides, and catering. Organisers are encouraging advance bookings due to high demand in previous years. The event aims to raise funds for the cricket club and Alzheimer's Research UK.

Shrivenham Football Club: Doors open at 4pm at the Shrivenham FC Recreation Ground, with the display starting at 7pm. Admission is £10 for adults and £5 for children aged five to 16, with free entry for under 4s. A bar and food will be available throughout the evening.

Attendees are encouraged to check individual event websites for the most up-to-date information regarding ticket availability and site policies before travelling.
