The renowned a cappella ensemble is set to visit Bradford on Avon this October for an evening of Renaissance polyphony.
Music lovers in Wiltshire are set to experience an evening of historic vocal performance when the Grammy-nominated ensemble Stile Antico arrives in Bradford on Avon. The group will take to the stage at the Wiltshire Music Centre on 31 October, offering a programme that draws from the depths of the Renaissance period.
Titled Discord to Harmony , the concert is scheduled to begin at 7.30pm. The performance aims to take the audience on a journey through nearly two centuries of sacred music, focusing specifically on the themes of war, reflection and peace. The ensemble will perform a range of works including Victoria’s Laetatus sum , the Lamentatio sanctae matris by Guillaume Dufay and Deliver me from mine enemies by Robert Parsons.
The event serves as an opportunity for the local community to hear globally recognised vocalists perform in an intimate, purpose-built acoustic setting. The programme is specifically curated to explore the turbulence of the era, moving from the sounds of battle through to laments for the fallen and concluding with serene motets intended to welcome a long-awaited peace.
Tickets are currently available for the performance. Prices are tiered at £33 and £25 for standard entry, with a reduced rate of £18 available for students and those under the age of 18. Attendees should note that these prices include a £3 booking fee. Further details regarding booking can be found via the Wiltshire Music Centre website.
