A community boxing club in Warminster has been hit by a significant burglary that has disrupted training sessions and led to a police appeal for information.

A community boxing gym in Warminster is working to recover after thieves broke into its Silver Street premises, stealing approximately £2,000 worth of specialist equipment. The break-in, which occurred on the night of Wednesday, 7 October, has dealt a major blow to the facility, which serves as a hub for both competitive boxers and young people in the local area.

Wiltshire Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The stolen items include a significant quantity of free weights, such as dumbbells, kettlebells and weight plates, alongside essential power tools and Olympic bars used by members for strength and conditioning training.

In an emotional statement, the club confirmed that the theft has caused a major setback, affecting both scheduled training sessions and the development plans for boxers preparing for upcoming competitions. Despite the loss, the club has vowed to continue its operations and support its members through the recovery process.

The local community has responded with an outpouring of support. Several residents and nearby fitness businesses have offered to help the club replace the stolen equipment. Local gyms, including PMA Kickboxing Warminster and CrossFit Warminster, have pledged their support and are keeping a watch for any stolen items that might appear for sale in the local area.

Officers are asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the Silver Street area on Wednesday night, or who has information regarding the whereabouts of the stolen equipment, to assist with the ongoing inquiry. Information can be directed to PC Malin Davis via email at 71490@wiltshire.police.uk. Alternatively, those who wish to remain anonymous can contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
