Motorists across Wiltshire are being urged to shop around for fuel, as significant price variations are reported at filling stations throughout the county.

With fuel costs remaining a significant pressure on household budgets, motorists across Wiltshire are being encouraged to check local pricing before heading to the pumps. Recent data shows that significant variations exist between filling stations in the area, meaning a few minutes of research could lead to worthwhile savings for regular drivers.

Currently, the most competitive rate for unleaded petrol identified in the county is at the Esso station in Royal Wootton Bassett, priced at 169.9p per litre. Other notable low-cost options include the Valero in Melksham and the EG On the Move site in Trowbridge, both offering petrol at 172.9p per litre.

In the Swindon area, the Asda West Swindon Superstore is currently listing fuel at 173.7p per litre, while the Valero in Swindon is available at 173.9p. Further afield, motorists in the Marlborough area may find the Jet station at Fyfield a practical option, with prices recently recorded at 174.7p per litre.

Diesel remains more expensive at the pumps, with the Valero station in Melksham recording the lowest listed price at 197.9p per litre. The Asda stations in West Swindon and the Haydon Supercentre are currently competing at 198.7p per litre. Several other locations, including Esso sites in Royal Wootton Bassett and Devizes, are offering diesel at 198.9p per litre.

It is important to note that fuel prices are dynamic and subject to frequent change. Prices at individual filling stations can be updated by management at short notice, and drivers are advised to verify current rates at their local pump. These figures are based on recent data from Fuel.co.uk.

For those travelling regularly or those with larger tanks, the price disparity across the county can add up to several pounds per fill. Checking online tools or simply comparing prices while passing different local stations can provide a simple way to manage motoring expenses during a period of sustained high prices.
