A charity providing counselling for those affected by cancer and life-threatening conditions is offering a new will-writing scheme to support its local operations.

A charity dedicated to supporting those affected by life-threatening conditions is encouraging Wiltshire residents to secure their affairs through a new will-writing fundraising initiative. We Hear You (WHY), which provides free and low-cost counselling services across the county, has partnered with Goodwills Legal Services Ltd to offer the scheme.

The partnership allows individuals to make or update their wills, with the entire fee for a standard single will, currently priced at £118, donated directly to the charity. The organisation, which supports children, young people and adults, notes that these funds are essential for maintaining access to emotional support during difficult periods.

Jilly Edwards, a partnerships fundraiser at the charity, highlighted the necessity of such schemes in ensuring that counselling remains accessible to those who need it most. She explained that the service is vital for anyone bereaved or affected by cancer, often during the most challenging times in their lives.

Michael Rhodes, a senior consultant at Goodwills, said the partnership aims to provide peace of mind for residents while contributing to the charity's ongoing mission. He noted that previous iterations of this campaign have raised more than £10,000 to support the charity's work.

The service, which covers Wiltshire, Somerset, and Bath, includes professional options such as home visits for those requiring them. In addition to standard will writing, the provider offers further legal services including lasting powers of attorney and home protection trusts.

Residents interested in the scheme can contact the legal service provider to arrange a consultation. By choosing to use this service, participants can ensure their own legal planning is handled professionally while directly funding local counselling provision.
