Cricklade lightweight boxer celebrates perfect start to professional career
By Swindon Now Editorial Team · Published

Wiltshire boxer Marshall Meacock has remained undefeated in his first six professional bouts, with his sights set on reaching ten wins by the end of 2026.
A 23-year-old boxer from Cricklade has enjoyed a dream start to his professional career, securing victories in all six of his opening bouts in under a year. Marshall Meacock, who competes in the lightweight division, turned professional less than twelve months ago and has maintained a clean record despite the common logistical challenges that frequently cause delays in the sport.
Mr Meacock balances his demanding training regime with a full-time career in the construction industry. Having discovered boxing at a young age and enjoyed a successful amateur career without coming from a fighting background, he views the professional ranks as the ultimate test of his discipline and consistency. He credits his long-term coach, Paddy Fitzpatrick, for his development over the past decade.
Managing the boxer is Bec Connolly, who has outlined a strategic path for his career. The team is currently aiming to see Mr Meacock finish 2026 with an undefeated record of ten professional victories. Ms Connolly praised the young fighter, noting that each match has helped him broaden his range of skills against opponents with varying fighting styles.
To support his ongoing development and cover the costs associated with his progression, Mr Meacock has organised a fundraising event on Friday, August 21, at the Cricklade Club. Tickets are priced at £5. The boxer emphasised that the event serves as both a community engagement opportunity and a chance to express his gratitude to those who have supported him so far. He continues to actively seek new sponsors to help facilitate his climb up the rankings.
The rising star has already attracted backing from several local businesses, including The Red Lion in Cricklade, The Performance Vault, Aspect Rendering in Bristol, Pandeboard, Empire Lofts, and Wise Fool Garms.
